Material Architecture

  • C6 DWR Finish: Water-repellent coating for initial moisture shedding.
  • 210D Nylon Face: Provides a balance of abrasion resistance and low weight.
  • Black Polyester X-Ply®: Increases bias stability and tear strength while providing the iconic diamond pattern.
  • 0.25 mil PET Film: The primary waterproof barrier.
  • 50D Polyester Taffeta: Protects the film and provides a clean, finished interior (no lining needed).

Best Use Cases

  • Ultralight Backpacking: Primary pack bodies and high-wear areas.
  • Bikepacking Gear: Frame bags and seat packs requiring structural rigidity.
  • EDC / Tech Pouches: Tactical style organizers and laptop sleeves.
  • Tote Bags: Structured bags that need to stand up on their own.

Tech Note: Because VX21 contains a PET film layer, it is dimensionally stable (it won't stretch or sag over time). We recommend using a #18 to #20 needle and a V69 or V92 bonded polyester thread for optimal seam strength.
